El Cajon, in southeast San Diego County, is the home of Sycuan Casino. Sycuan has golf on-site with three courses available for guests. Sycuan has two golf courses with a par 72 and the third course has a par 54. As of 2010, full resort packages including golf started at $ 145. Sycuan also offers golf lessons for all ages and has special packages for women.
Barona Casino & Resort
Lakeside, in eastern San Diego County, hosts Barona Resort & Casino and its nationally known golf course. Golf Digest lists Barona’s golf course as a top five in the country. Barona boasts of of the PRO-AM series as well, which visits during the fall and winter. Signing up for a Club Barona card, which is free, can give you a discount on green fees.
While Temecula isn’t in San Diego County proper, it does sit directly along the San Diego/Riverside county border and considered by many to be part of the San Diego area. Pechanga casino is located in Temecula and boasts a golf course, Journey. Journey includes a yearly tournament in the fall with $ 430,000 in cash prizes.
